Erwin Panofsky, art historian of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, will lecture tonight at 8:30 p.m. on "Mithras in Monreale? Some Further Observations on Classical Mythology in Medieval Art."
The talk will be given in the Large Lecture Room of Fogg Museum. Mithras was a sun deity imported from India by the peoples of the Easern Mediterranean.
