Two Crimson skaters, Bob Cleary and Mario Celi, won positions on the first squad of the All-Eastern hockey team elected at the tenth annual meeting of the American Hockey Coaches Association.
In addition, Celi was voted the season's most improved player, and Cleary tied with sophomore Gary Kearns of R.P.I. as the year's best sophomore. The coaches chose Harvard as the team showing the greatest improvement over the course of the season.
Russ Kingman of Brown was named on the most ballots for the all-star team, topping Ed Rowe of Clarkson, 196 to 195. Clarkson, R.P.I., and St. Lawrence had the highest representation on the all-stars, with a total of 14 men among the 35 leading players.
