Quintet Will Meet Weak Bruin Five Tonight in I.A.B.

The varsity basketball team will close out its home season tonight against a weak Brown five in the Blockhouse at 8:30. If the Crimson can win its third league game of the season, it will move into a tie for seventh place in the Ivy League.

The main obstacle in the path of the varsity will probably be the Bruins' sensational sophomore guard, Joe Tebo. Tebo, who stands only 5-foot-10, has already broken the all-time Brown scoring record with 489 points in 23 games. With 277 points in 12 Ivy contests, he is also in a close battle for Ivy scoring honors with Yale's Johnny Lee and Cornell's Chuck Rolles.

Other starters for the Bruins, whose 7-16 overall record is only slightly poorer than the varsity's 7-15 mark, will be John Lydon and captain Charley Merritt at the forwards, 6-foot-4 Gerry Alaimo at center and Peter Campisi at the other guard.

Captain Warren Kantrowitz, Dick Hurley, Ike Canty, Bob Hastings and Bob Barnett will probably start for the Crimson.

In a previous meeting early in February at Providence, Brown defeated the varsity, 61-51.
