Maclay R. Hyde '57, of Eliot House and Minneapolis, Minn, was elected captain of the 1956-57 lacrosse squad, coach Bruce Munro announced Friday.
Playing a solid, consistant game at midfield all season, Hyde helped considerably to solve Munro's early problem at the midfield position. He strengthened both the attack and often weak defensive play of the team. He was instrumental in all the Crimson's wins, and was an important factor in the varsity's strong 11-10 finish against Dartmouth.
Although Hyde was usually over-shadowed by the spectacular play of this year's captain, Dexter Lewis, he nevertheless contributed much to the Crimson's comeback late in the season.
