With all of the major Eastern college hockey teams now relaxing in mid-year exams, local sportswriters have begun to look over the records with regard to the NCAA tournament at Colorado Springs in March.
They have come up with four choices, two of which must be eliminated in the next month's play. The teams are, with their NCAA records: Clarkson and St. Lawrence (6-1), Harvard (9-2) and Boston University (7-4).
Thus far, only R.P.I. has been able to upset Clarkson in the East, while only Clarkson has been able to edge St. Lawrence. Still on the schedule for February, however, are two games between R.P.I. and St. Lawrence and one between Clarkson and R.P.I.
Meanwhile, the Crimson sextet will meet its toughest opponent immediately after exams, when it opens the Beanpot Tourney in the Garden with Boston University. The two teams have split victories in their first two games this season.
