CCA Elects Three For School Board

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Cambridge's eight-day count of ballots ended yesterday, as three CCA candidates were elected to the six-man School Committee. The control of the board, however, will rest in the hands of the mayor, an ex-officio member, due to the even division.

Major issue in the election was the promotion of 17 teachers by Mayor Edward J. Sullivan and the School Committee over protests from the CCA minority. Only two of the four incumbents supporting this move, Anthony Galluccio and James F. Fitzgerald were returned to office.

CCA nominees elected included Associate Dean Judson T. Shaplin '42 of the Graduate School of Education, Mrs. Catherine T. Ogden, and Edward T. Sullivan, a newcomer to the board, one of the four Sullivans entered on the 26-man ballot.

Independents Galluccio and Daniel J. Hayes, the second newscomer, filled out the Committee.
