Charities Drive Aims At $14,000 in Five Days

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Soliciting for the annual Combined Charities Drive began last night and will continue through Thursday in an attempt to raise over $14,000. Five organizations will be specifically covered by the drive, but students may earmark their contributions for any charity they choose, Gregory B. Stone '58, chairman, said last night.

Unspecified contributions will go toward the American Field Service, Phillips Brooks House, World University Service, the Red Feather campaign, and the Salzburg Seminar, the only center in Europe for advanced U.S. study. Solicitors will visit students' rooms between 9 and 11 p.m.

Solicitation will be better organized in the graduate schools this year, Stone reported, in an attempt to garner more contributions from that area than have been collected in the past.
