3 Seniors Given Fulbright Grants To Study Abroad

Of the eighty seniors who have applied for Fulbright Scholarships, three have already received the grants for graduate study abroad. Fulbright awards were given to seven of the 68 seniors who applied last year.

John E.Ratte '57 of Lowell House and Lawrence, Mass., Charles P. Segal '57 of Leverett House and Dorchester, Mass., and Robert H. Secrist '57 of Lowell House and Juneau, Alaska, have received the scholarships, according to Thomas E.Crooks '49, Director of Student Placement, who administers the awards on the college level here.

Ratte, a History Concentrator, also received a Henry Scholarship for study in England, and has declined the Fulbright grant for study in France. Segal, who is concentrating in Classics, will study Archaeology in Athens at the American School of Classical Studies. Secrist will study German Linguistics at the Municipal University of Amsterdam.

More Fulbright awards for University seniors are expected during April, Crooks said.
