Miss Ward to Begin IDS Series Tonight With Television Talk

Barbara Ward will open a two-program television series, sponsored by the International Development Society, with a talk on "The Challenge of the Developing World" tonight at 9 p.m. Miss Ward is the British expert on economic development and is currently visiting lecturer in Government.

The series, which has been arranged in cooperation with the World Affairs Council in Boston, will appear over WGBH-TV, Channel 2. "Foreign Aid at the Crossroads" is the controversial subject of the programs.

According to Joseph W. Shepard '58, president of the I.D.S. and director of the program, tonight's speech marks one of the first efforts by an undergraduate group in television.
