The freshman hockey team, rated one of the most promising in several years, will meet the Boston College freshmen this afternoon in their first contest of the season. The game will be part of the ceremony dedicating B.C.'s new rink.

Star players from outstanding secondary school teams fill every position on the Yardling squad. The line is bolstered by Chris Norris and Jim Dwinell from Choate and Bill Beckett from Belmont Hill, while Bob Bland, star goalie for Noble and Greenough for three years will be in the nets. Practice sessions have been held since early November.

Last year's freshman team compiled a 15-6 record, winding up 5-1 in Ivy League play. The team, which extended the Yardlings' winning streak over the yale freshmen to seven games, sent about five men to this year's varsity squad.
