Jordan Will Speak At Formal Farewell

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Wilbur K. Jordan, retiring president of Radcliffe, will receive a formal farewell from members of the college at the traditional Radcliffe Christmas program tomorrow evening.

Jordan will present a lecture, "Ann Radcliffe and Her Times," based upon his research on philanthropy in 17th century England. Ann Radcliffe, a member of this early charitable movement, established the first endowed scholarship fund at Harvard College.

Radcliffe's new president, Mrs. Mary I. Bunting, will be officially installed in office May 19, 1960. She is currently serving as Dean of Women at Douglass College, a part of Rutgers University, and will start her duties at Radcliffe next term.

A performance by the Radcliffe Freshman Chorus will start the program at 6:45 p.m. in Christ Church. Following a 20-year-old tradition, students will then march to Agassiz carrying lighted candles to hear the retiring president speak.
