Tennis, Lacrosse Squads To Challenge Brown Today

Ten Seeks First Win After Four Losses

The varsity lacrosse team should snap its four game losing streak when it faces Brown at Providence this afternoon.

However, no matter what the result, this game will have no effect on the Crimson's Ivy League record, for Brown's lacrosse team is recognized by the university as a student activity and not subsidized by the athletic department.

In losing to Penn last Saturday, the Crimson still turned in a fairly satisfying performance. After playing sloppy lacrosse in the first period, the team sharpened up its stickwork and charged harder. Even the defense--the weakest unit on the team so far--turned in a good performance.

If the Crimson does have trouble with Brown, one of the chief reasons will be an injury to first-string midfielder Bill Parks. Parks hurt his leg in the Penn game and will see no action today.

As usual, Charlie Devens and Tim Morgan will start at first midfield, but Tadgh Sweeney will take Parks' place as center midfielder. Lanny Keyes, Bron Thayer, and Mike Adair will probably open the game at defense, while Chris Stone will guard the nets.
