Fresh from last Saturday's upset victory over Cornell, the varsity cross-country team is expected to have easy going in its meet today with Boston University and Brandeis at Franklin Park.
B.U. will supply the Crimson's more serious competition in Art Freeman and Ken Mueller. The use of a four-mile instead of the usual five-mile track may favor the two B.U. stars, both of whom are middle distance runners. But if its performance in the Cornell meet is any indicator, the Harvard varsity should have no trouble with either B.U. or Brandeis today.
The freshman team, which trounced Cornell by a 19-44 score, seems an even better bet for victory in its dual meet with B.U. The Yardling team showed excellent depth last Saturday, when it took the first and third-through-eighth places. The freshmen will run on a three-mile track at Franklin Park against what is not regarded as a particularly strong B.U. team.
