Members of the Harvard Young Democratic Club will discuss problems concerning the relationship between economic equality and political liberty during a colloquium at Wesleyan University April 7, 8, and 9.

During the program, several students will present papers dealing with the degree of democracy necessary in society. These papers will be discussed and then published, together with critiques written by students present at the conference.

The colloquium is sponsored by the Democratic National Student Federation and will include students from southern New England, New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.

According to Michael J. Piore '62, president of the HYDC, the conference is designed to impress upon the participants the need for considering the problems of political philosophy while in college, rather than leaving these problems completely to professional politicians.

For this reason, he explained, the colloquium is to deal exclusively with papers written by students.
