Chairmen May Call New House Council

The nine House committee chairmen will convene for the second time tonight in a series of meetings that may be a prelude to an interhouse-type organization to supplement or replace the Student Council.

William Bailey '62 of Dunster House, who has called the meetings, and other Committee heads want to create another organization of House representatives to take some of the Council's functions, or at least make the Council a group of House delegates.

The chairmen will meet with Howard J. Phillips '62, Council President, tonight "to discuss what might be done by the House Committees to increase the effectiveness of the Council." Dean Monro for some time has favored a new Council on the lines of an interhouse council with members selected not by each class but by each House in the manner it chooses.
