The appointment of Law School Professors Henry M. Hart '26, John P. Dawson, and Benjamin Kaplan to key Law School professorships has been announced by Erwin N. Griswold, Dean of the Faculty of Law.
Hart, an authority in American legal history and federal legislation, will succeed Austin W. Scott as Dane Professor of Law.
An expert on contracts, comparative law, and restitution, John P. Dawson will take over for Hart as Charles Stabbins Fairchild Professor of Law.
Kaplan will become Royall Professor of Law, a position held by Archibald Cox prior to his appointment this winter as Solleitor General of the United States.
