Kirkland Takes Lead In Straus Competition

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Kirkland House seems well on its way to a sixth consecutive Straus trophy championship with the winter schedule of the inter-House athletic competition nearly completed.

The Deacons have amassed an unofficial total of 750 points to give them unchallenged claim to first place, almost 100 points ahead of their nearest rival, Dunster.

Eliot trails Kirkland and Dunster, while Winthrop, Leverett, Lowell, and Quincy are tightly bunched with only 25 points separating the fourth and seventh-place teams. Adams and Dudley are well off the pace.

Leveretts' basketball champions met Davenport College of Yale today at 2 p.m. in the Indoor Athletic Building while Lowell faces Silliman College for the House-College squash championship at Hemenway.
