Hoping that the President can take a joke, Jack Winter '62 former president of the Lampoon is marketing a product called "The Kennedys, a game of intrafamily power struggle."
The Kennedy game, currently on display at the Coop, entails some intricate strategy, but the object is simply to win control of the country. This is achieved by purchasing (Joe Kennedy is depicted on the game's cash) the components of political power: image, social standing, etc.
An element of chance is introduced by "turn of events cards," which for example dictate: "Jack says that if Congress won't pass Medicare he'll finance it himself. Gains power-group backing."
Or, "Bobby resigns as attorney general 'to take the law into my own hands on the Hoffa cases.' Loses position."
