‘The Architect of the Whole Plan’: Harvard Law Graduate Ken Chesebro’s Path to Jan. 6
Five Harvard students have been suspended for the remainder of the academic year and three others placed on probation by the Administrative Board for their part in a party at Quincy House on Saturday, Dec. 7. Sign in rules were violated, and the party itself has been described as "indecent."
Various sources have confirmed that eight Harvard students and two guests from Brown held the party with ten blind dates who were improperly signed into the House guest book. At about 10:30 p.m. one of the Brown students cut the back of a girl's sweater with a pair of scissors.
Girls Leave
This girl and two or three others then left the building, complaining to a custodian as they departed. He later investigated but found no cause to intervene. The party had begun to break up, and by the end of parietal hours all the girls had left the House unescorted.
Complaints, from sources still unknown, were lodged with Harvard officials some time later. Their full extent and the basis for the Administrative Board's action have not been revealed, however.
During Christmas vacation several newspapers throughout the country carried stories on the party and the disciplinary action. It is not immediately apparent how the story got out, since the University does not normally release information on disciplinary actions by the Administrative Board.
Ne 'Cliffies Present
Larry D. Benson, Allston Burr Senior Tutor in Quincy House, said last night that there were no "sexual improprieties" at the party and that no Radcliffe students were present, contrary to some of the holiday reports.
Different sources differ on the details of the party, but the cutting of the sweater seems to have been the most disrupting incident.
