Harvard Basketball spent a relaxing but interesting evening at Worcestar Polytechnic Institute last night, defeating the 81-71.

Although the game was always close enough to encourage lusty cheers from the capacity in WPI's tiny gym, Harvard was never in any danger of losing. The Crimson compensated for its rather frigid field goal shooting with masterful domination of the backboards.

Shortly after the intermission, which found Harvard leading 37-34, Worcester's chances appeared to have improved when Barry Williams and Bob "Stork" Inman were charged with their fourth fouls. Coach Floyd Wilson removed them to the bench, but unheralded replacements John Scott and Fran Martin acquitted themselves well.

With four minutes to go the Crimson eased into an eight point lead, and its zone defense kept it comfortably in front. Worcester had to content itself with outside shooting, and while proficient in this sport, was unable to launch a serious counter-attack.

Sophomore forward Barry Williams was the evening's most prolific scorer with 19 counters; Merle McClung was credited with 16.
