Rowland Ill, May Not Be Teaching
Benjamin Rowland, Jr., Gleason Professor of Fine Arts, has been hospitalized with an ulcer and may not be able to teach his two Summer School courses.
Thomas K.Crooks, director of the Summer School, said yesterday that he would probably know by Friday whether Rowland would be able to teach Humanities S-113. "Types of Art: The Representation of Nature in Asiatic and European Art," and Fine Arts S-275, "American Art."
Crooks said he doubted that substitute teachers would be available if Rowland were unable to teach the courses, but said there was "a good chance" that Rowland would give them. The professor's illness is not thought to be serious.
