JV Booters Top B.U. Frosh, 4-0

Harvard's JV soccer team waited late to score yesterday, and then calmly demolished a ragged B.U. freshman club, 4-0.

Crimson Coach Seamus Malin's squad is a highly skilled collection of former freshman stars and sometime varsity bench-warmers, several of whom will surely see varsity action later this season or in future years.

Though it dominated play throughout, Harvard couldn't manage a goal until late in the second period. Junior inside Henry Fields took a through pass from sophomore Ritchie Lobell and drilled a quick shot into the open lower-left corner of the B.U. net.

Two minutes later, sophomore inside Ahmend Yehia maneuvered the ball past several B.U. defenders in their penalty area and retained possession long enough to shoot it by the bewildered goalie.

Yehia added another goal late in the third period, after a neat setup in front of the goal by left wing Michel Jean-Baptiste.

Senior right wing Steve Griffith scored the fourth goal late in the final period taking a through pass from center forward Jamie Niven and driving a hard right-footed shot into the upper right corner of the net.
