Jubilee Features 'The Tempations'
The lights in the Freshman Union dimmed. A gong sounded. Two girls minced to the center of the balcony, high above the yelling fans. Then, as the strains of "Ain't Too Proud To Beg" filled the dining hall, and the lights went back on, the girls unfurled a huge banner saying "The Temptations."
Last night's dramatic revelation of the featured performers for Freshman Jubilee Weekend, April 21-23, was only the first of many announcements.
Reactions to last night's happening were varied. The Temptations are "the number one soul group in the country," Jubilee chairman Fred L. Graudy '70, said last night. "Frankenstein in monkey suits," contradicted another.
