Kearns Is Selected For Institute Job

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Richard E. Neustadt, director of the Kennedy Institute of Politics, announced Wednesday that Doris H. Kearns, assistant professor of Government and research associate of the Institute, has been appointed to the newly-created post of assistant director of the Institute.

Kearns' main concern in the new position will be the development of Faculty Study Groups, Neustadt said. The groups, which were initiated three years ago, bring faculty members together to debate topics of public policy and formulate research and reports.

Kearns, who is a resident tutor in Dunster House, will also work on developing the student seminar program.

Neustadt also announced the appointment of Elizabeth Stix Fainsod as his executive assistant. Fainsod, wife of Merle Fainsod, Piorzheimer University Professor, had been a staff writer for the Harvard News Office.
