Harvard police foiled an attempted theft Tuesday when they arrested two youths in B-entry of Adams House.
Frank Vaughan Jr., 17, of Homes lead Street, Roxbury, was charged with trespassing, Robert Tonis, Chief of the Harvard police, said yesterday. The charges against his companion, a juvenile runaway from Longview Farm, Walpole, were trespassing with intent to burglarize. "He carried a screwdriver and a knife," Tonis said.
The Third District Court head the charges yesterday morning. Vaughan pleaded not guilty, and the Court granted him a continuance until Dec. 15.
The Adams House superintendent notified the Harvard police that the youths had been seen in B-entry. They posed as salesmen and carried newspapers and shopping bags-the bags presumably for transporting any stolen items, Tonis said.
