Law Student Group Calls For Exam Changes For War Protest

A group of some 20 Law students yesterday asked Derek C. Bok, dean of the Law School, to call an emergency faculty meeting which would provide options for Law students who wish to devote their time to antiwar activities.

Bok said last night that no decision had been made as yet to call a meeting for today. He usually consults with other faculty members before calling such unscheduled meetings, and he said that only a few faculty were available yesterday.

The students, who met for more than an hour before speaking with Bok, suggested a number of possible plans, including pass-fail for all courses, postponement of exams until September, and take-home exams.

None of the students said they wanted to close down the Law School. "We're not saying get rid of exams. We're just asking the Law School to free people for antiwar activity," one said.

A number of Law students plan to concentrate their efforts on the Senate, which, will consider amendments opposing the President's policy later this week or early next week. Others plan to organize telegram and letter campaigns, and perhaps to canvass.
