Stickmen Elect DiSesa, Green

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Midfielders Bobby Green and Verdi DiSesa have been elected co-captains of next year's lacrosse team, and for the first time ever, three lacrosse players have shared the Class of '59 Award for "improvement and sportsmanship."

Both Green and DiSesa were standouts on the freshman team two years ago, ranking among the top four scorers, but neither one came out for last spring's team. Their return strengthened the top two midfields and enabled coach Bruce Munro to rotate four complete sets of midfielders.

Captain Rick Frisbie, Bill Bennett, and Chris Doyle are the three seniors who won the Class of '59 Award. Frisbie is a midfielder, while Doyle and Bennett are defensemen. The award is given to someone who shows "consistent improvement and the highest degree of sportsmanship, determination, and fair play." A vote of the players determines the recipient, and this year it was too close a vote to give the award to any one of the three.

Junior midfielder Dave Crawford won the "Hustler" award.
