Radcliffe's undefeated swimming team swept through three more foes on Wednesday at the University of Rhode Island, outdistancing the second-place host Rams, 147-93. Brown and Northeastern came in third and fourth respectively.
The victory prepared Radcliffe for its toughest meet of the year Tuesday at Mount Holyoke. "Without a doubt this is our most difficult dual meet," coach Alice McCabe said. "They've been the only team to beat us in years and years and even that was a long time ago."
RoAnn Costin was a double winner in the 50 yd. backstroke and 100 yd. free. Her performance was backed by victories in the 50 yd. fly, 100 yd. I.M., and the diving by Connie Cervilla, Jeannie Sinnot and Nancy Sato respectively. The 'Cliffe also captured the opening medley relay.
