To the Editors of the Crimson:

On November 15 to 18, Greek students and workers tried to restore freedom in Greece. In response, the junta attacked the protestors with American guns and tanks. Official communiques acknowledged thirteen deaths; rumors suggest that the toll was much higher. There were hundreds of casualties. Thousands were arrested, and the courts martial began to sentence in closed session. The November 25 coup, instantly recognized by the U.S. government, brought to the forefront of the junta the head of the brutal Military Security Police. The situation seems more threatening for the prisoners--and for all Greeks.

We the undersigned have formed an Emergency Committee For Greece to help the victims of oppression and to urge the U.S. government to end its support of the Greek military regime. We ask church groups, student and academic groups, labor unions, people from all walks of life, to join this effort. N. Chomsky  Ramsey Clark   R. Drinan  L. Eisenberg   C. Goodell  G. Kepes   D.
