The Radcliffe tennis team was over-whelmed, 8-1, Saturday by a very strong squad from Yale.
The only bright spot for the 'Cliffe was in second doubles, where Jill Robertson and Joy Skon won a hard-fought three-set victory, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5.
In first singles, Meg Morgan lost, 6-2, 6-0, to Lisa Rosenblum, winner last fall of the New England Collegiate Championship.
Sarah Stearns, playing number two, was bested by Sally MacFarland, also 6-2, 6-0.
In other singles matches, Joy Skon at number three lost to Diane Strauss, 6-4, 6-1, and fourth player Jill Robertson dropped her match to Linden Havemeyer, 6-3, 6-1. Ingrid Sarapuu lost to Betsey Auchincloss, 6-0, 6-2, and Marcy Richmond was defeated, 6-4, 6-0.
The first doubles team of Morgan and Stearns took Rosenblum and MacFarland to three hard-fought sets, but were unable to pull out the match, while Kathy Agoos and Lissa Muscatine lost to Havemeyer and Auchincloss, 7-6, 6-3.
