The Harvard Wrestling Team defeated Coast Guard, 31-12, and MIT, 31-6, Saturday in a triangular meet at the MIT Armory.

Senior Captain Dan Blankinger led off the meet by defeating both his opponents in the 118-lb. class. He was followed at 126 lbs. by freshman Milton Yasunaga, who pinned Coast Guard's Captain, and junior Mitchell Silverman who lost to MIT's captain, 17-14.

Despite the loss for the season of Carl Biello, who received a serious neck injury at the UMass match before vacation, both Bill Haley and Ty and Richardson defeated their opponents in the 134-lb. class.

At 142 lbs., junior George Baker won by pins in both his matches. Mike Dee won both his matches by decisions in the 150-lb. class.

Freshman Jim Gebhard split his matches in the 158-lb. class, defeating MIT but yielding to Coast Guard. Gebhard is recovering from an elbow injury suffered before vacation which required him to recondition before the meet.

Match Time Increased

At 167, John Keough pinned both his opponents, and Jim Strathmeyer won both his matches by decisions at 177.

Junior Bruce Johnson defeated MIT, but was decisioned by Coast Guard in the 190-lb. class, 6-5.

In the heavyweight bouts Bart Vandissel, who joined the team at Christmas, was pinned by his opponent from Coast Guard. Coach Johnny Lee said after the match that Vandissel has great potential with the team.

Saturday's meet left Harvard with a season record of 5-5. Lee said their season is expected to improve because only Ivy League teams remain on their schedule, who are not expected to be as strong as Harvard's early-season rivals.
