Kirkland Zaps Quincy, 28-0; Eliot Rolls by Winthrop, 22-0

Kirkland House capped an undefeated season with a 28-0 drubbing of Quincy House as the intramural football league champions finished their season yesterday afternoon at Soldiers Field.

In other games, Eliot blanked Winthrop, 22-0, while Leverett forfeited to Mather House.

Defense was the key once again as Kirkland (5-0-1) finished the season unscored upon. Rich Strecker led the defensive corps in stifling the Quincy running attack.

The "Red Machine" was ted little time in getting untracked, as fullback Marty Foye hit pay dirt midway through the first quarter. Doug Baumgarten, Gary Gillis, and Barry Cronin all added scores in the second half as an inspired K-House had its final tune-up for the match against Yale's intramural champions.

In the other contest, running backs Sandy White and Mike Plater powered Eliot House over Winthrop. Plater turned on his jets on an end-around in the second quarter for a 75-yard scoring run.
