The Yardling tennis squad opened its season in the right court, gaining two easy wins this week. The team cruised past the Naval Academy Prep school winning 8-1. And yesterday the squad handed Choate a similar 8-1 defeat, powered by number one singles player ART SHERER'S 6-3, 6-3 victory.
The freshman lacrosse team didn't fare as well however as it dropped its first loss of the season to the UMass Jayvee in a disappointing 11-8 decision. BILL LEWIS, STEVE MARTIN and BOB MELLEN paced the attack each notching two tallies. The squad's record now stands at 2-1.
