To the Editors of the Crimson:
Here is a way for opponents of the Engelhard bequest to strike a blow against apartheid.
Cecil Rhodes was the same kind of man as Engelhard, and he made his money from the same source. Why not persuade this year's six Rhodes scholars to reject their scholarships, or at the very least insist that the name be changed?
Or does conscience at Harvard stop where self-interest begins?
Personally I would be appalled if the Rhodes scholars did anything so ridiculous. But then I've got nothing against Engelhard either. --Julie K. Pforzheimer
