By Ted Teele

These pictures were taken at the Northeast Regional Final tournament on April 28-29 at UMass/Amherst. The ones below the frisbee capture the action in the final two games, and the ones above make up a primer of Ultimate Frisbee.

Ultimate Frisbee is played on a field 70 yards long by 30 yards wide with two 25-yard endzones. Play begins with a "Pull-off" in which one of the seven men on one team lofts the disc towards the opposing team at the opposite goal. Teams advance by completing passes to teammates upfield, and a goal is scored when a team member catches the discover the goal line.

The most important thing to remember about Ultimate Frisbee is that you can't run with the disc. You must pivot and pass.
