NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Recently released statistics from the University police show a sharp increase in the number of obscene phone calls made to students this year compared with the same time period last year.

The increase of more than 250 per cent may be attributed to one particular male who had harassed a number of female students before police arrested him, Police Capt. Jack W. Morse said yesterday. He added that of the 100 reported incidents of such calls this year, probably more than 80 can be attributed to this person.

Morse would not comment on whether the calls came from within the University.

The statistics indicate that other crimes within the University have remained at nearly the same level as last year.
