Women's Volleyball

The Harvard women's volleyball team opened up the 1986 season with losses to Holy Cross and Boston College Saturday, in front of 50 spectators at the Malkin Althletic Center.

In the season-opener, the Crimson lost to the Crusaders in three straight sets, 15-9, 15-6, 15-6.

Against the Eagles--the number-one ranked team in the Big East--the Crimson also lost in straight sets, 15-4, 15-7, 16-14.

"We did really well with only two weeks of practice--we are definitely going to get better," Harvard Captain Maia Forman said.

"I saw alot of pluses, but it was more like a scrimmage game for us," said first-year Crimson Coach Wayne Lem, who joins the Harvard program after 10 years at B.C.
