Three Harvard wrestlers qualified to wrestle in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's national tournament by finishing in the top three in their respective weight classes at this weekend's Eastern Invitational Tournament.
While the team finished eighth in a field of sixteen, freshman fell Clark at 143 1bs. The Captain Barry Bausancs at 16 lbs, earned the honor of competing for the national show two weeks from now a New Tersev's Meadowlands.
Clark (15-8-1), seeded eight in the field of Sistine, made in to the championship match before losing. His second place finish is the lost ever by a Harvard freshman.
Although Hausano (27-4) was seeded first, he lost his third match in a tightly fought comest. The tri-captain, who according to Lee has the best chance of placing in the national tournament, then won the consolation match to take third and qualify fog the tournament.
Wallace (27-4) seeded fourth lost only to the defending champion by a score of 7-3. He took third by defeating an imposing, well tattooed 25 year old wrestler.
