Mike Giardi, Harvard QB (Sr., 6-3, 185) Salem, Mass.

Giardi rolled for 273 yards of total offense in the Holy Cross win, throwing for 175 (10 or 17) and running for 98 (on 16 carries). He scored twice on short runs and broke the school recrod for career touchdowns.

Jim McGeehan, Pennsylvania QB (Sr., 6-0, 195) Philadelphia, Pa.

McGeehan has developed into one of the Ivy League's most dangerous passers. He had another big day against Columbia with 284 yards passing on 23-of-40 accuracy with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Dave Betten, Pennsylvania DE (Sr., 6-1, 214) satellite Beach, Fla.

Betten racked up impressive numbers this weekend--nine tackles (seven solos), two tackles for a total loss of five yards, two sacks for a total loss of 26 yards, one fumble caused, one fumble recovered and one pass breakup.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Marquis Jessie, Brown HB (Fr., 5-8, 170) San Jose, Calif.

The first freshman in league history to win a weekly football award, Jessie was outstanding on the Bears' 21-12 win against Bucknell. He ran 27 times and piled up the 10th-best yardage total in school, 170 yards. of those, 102 came in the second half.

HONOR ROLL

Mike Youssef, Brown LB (Jr., 6-2, 205) Wheeling W. Va.--11 tackles (7 solos) and one sack in the Bucknell win.

Chad Levitt, Cornell TB (Fr., 6-0 207) Melrose Park, Pa.--Did not start and still rushed for 106 yards (12 carries) and three TDs.

John Hyland, Dartmouth WR (So., 6-4, 200) Valley Stream, N.Y.--10 catches for 157 yards (both career highs) and one touchdown.

Miles Macik (So., 6-4, 194) Marlboro, N.J.--Nine catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns; already has tied the school's single-season record for TD catches with seven. Ivy League office
