Dozens of Harvard and Radcliffe student groups performed at the 10th annual Cultural Rhythms celebration this weekend. The event, which organizer S. Allen Counter says is intended to build "goodwill, teamwork, cooperation and cultural awareness" within the Harvard community, was moderated by Cultural Artist of the Year Denise Nichols.
Nichols, who was honored in a luncheon hosted by the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations in Kirkland House on Saturday, introduced the student performers.
The dance and vocal performance in Sanders Theater was followed by a food festival with over 20 student-run booths at the Science Center and the Greenhouse Cafe. Entertainment at the festival was provided by singers, dancers, Brazilian martial artists and even a demonstration of the Chinese yo-yo by Crimson editor Jennifer 8. Lee '98.
