Szekeres Warrant Is Issued By HUPD

Junior Skipped Court Arraignment

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Natalie J. Szekeres '97, the former treasurer of the Currier House Committee who is accused of embezzling $7,550 from that organization last year, failed to appear at her Friday arraignment in Middlesex County District Court.

As a result, the Harvard University Police Department has a warrant out for her arrest, according to Thomas J. Begley, the first assistant clerk magistrate for Cambridge District Court.

By law, the Harvard Police can now track down Szekeres and arrest her, Begley said.

The Currier House Committee discovered about $12,000 missing last fall. Szekeres is currently taking the year off from Harvard.

A check for $12,000 was sent to Harvard on behalf of Szekeres last month, but Begley said he knows nothing about the return of the funds and the case is still in court.

Szekeres is currently living in Landover, Md., and could not be reached for comment yesterday.
