Timeline-
Pre-1969- Vanserg Hall houses military offices and training facilities. The College grants teaching appointments to ROTC staff and students participate in physical training on campus.
1969- Students for a Democratic Society storm University Hall. College evicts ROTC and stops giving academic credit for courses in military training.
1993- Concerned over military discrimination against gays, the Faculty Council votes to stop paying MIT for its ROTC service. An independent trust fund established by alumni begins paying MIT for Harvard students.
