Southern Courier Follow Up

In an email from former Courier editor and former Crimson president Robert E. Smith ’62, FM has learned that the former staff decided on Monday, April 3, to start a campaign to ensure that Auburn University Montgomery and other libraries have a complete set of the 175 issues of The Southern Courier. Their new website, www.southerncourier.org, was still under construction at press time.
The former staff looks forward to eventually digitizing the complete Courier archives so that others may use the paper as a document of the civil rights movement in Alabama from 1965-1968. They also look forward to writing a book of their experiences at The Southern Courier in the near future.
