The Harvard alpine and Nordic ski teams finished their seasons this weekend, finishing 10th at the EISA Championships.

The teams traveled to Middlebury, Vt., to compete against 16 other schools in the final winter carnival of the year.

The top three teams of the Championship ranked in the exact same order as last week, with Dartmouth taking first and beating out the University of Vermont and Middlebury. The Crimson’s 10th-place finish also mirrored last week’s results.

In the women’s Nordic competition, senior co-captain Jennifer Harlow led Crimson finishers, accounting for 49 of Harvard’s 321 total points.

Harlow finished her Crimson career with a time of 15:17.7 in the 5K free technique, landing a spot in the 27th position, a career best.

She also came in 22nd in the 15K classic with a time of 57:37.8.

“She had one of her best college finishes, and I am gratified to see her season end on such a high note,” coach Peter Graves said.

Freshman Audrey Mangan also had a good weekend, finishing 32nd in the 5K with 16:21.7 and 46th in the 15K with 58:41.2.

“As Harvard’s best freshman, Audrey has had several very good classic races this year and has the potential to do very well in the next three years,” Harlow said.

For the men’s Nordic, junior Oliver Burruss took 43rd in the 10K classic with a time of 27:35.8. Not far behind him was sophomore Dave McCahill at the 48th spot with 27:48.5.

Freshman Trevor Petach took 54th in the 10K and placed similarly in the 20K classic at the 53rd position. Burruss also placed well in the 20K, leading the Crimson with a time of 1:05:38.5, landing the 47th position.

The return of these three athletes with their results and placings should make for an exciting season next year.

The alpine men’s team saw back-to-back finishes in the slalom by sophomore Jake Segal with 1:48.59 in 41st and junior Matt Basilico with 1:50.18 in 42nd.

Senior Daniel Tsai finished his career with a time of 2:08.73 in the grand slalom, placing first for the Crimson and 46th overall.

For the women’s alpine team, junior Alexandra Teng placed highest for Harvard in both the slalom and giant slalom. In the slalom, Teng dropped five seconds off her first run time for a total time of 2:15.58, placing 50th. In the giant slalom, she placed 51st with a time of 2:25.61.

Senior co-captain Katie Connors finished shortly after her teammate with a time of 2:25.42, placing 52nd.

Both alpine and Nordic teams finished their seasons strong, and their coaches said they were encouraged by the results.

“We ended on a good note this year,” alpine coach Tim Mitchell said. “Everyone has been making progress, and it is something to build on for next year.”
