Men's Hockey Advances to ECAC Quarterfinals

Crimson defeats Yale, 2-1, in Game 2

By Karan Lodha, Crimson Staff Writer

The Harvard men's hockey team topped Yale, 2-1, Saturday night at the Bright Hockey Center to win its best-of-three ECAC first-round series and move on the quarterfinals next weekend.

Sophomore Steve Rolecek scored the game-winning goal, beating Bulldogs netminder Matt Modelski late in the second period to give the Crimson a 2-1 lead.

The defense and senior goaltender Justin Tobe took over from there, allowing just five shots on goal the rest of the way.

Pending results from other ECAC first-round series, Harvard will travel to either Dartmouth or Clarkson for its best-of-three quarterfinal series next weekend.
