Found in The Crimson's Archives

The Crimson has been doing some summer cleaning around the building and found this classic picture (on the left) from a prank in the 1982 Harvard-Yale Game.

The '82 Game—which Harvard won, 45-7—may be best remembered for the MIT weather balloon stunt, but it's also notable for a particularly reckless field storming that resulted in, among other things, both goal posts being torn down.

As Yale undergrads proved in its 2004 "We Suck" prank at Harvard Stadium, MIT's students demonstrated in the fall of '82 that they can spell (the school's name adorned the surface of the mid-field balloon). But at least MIT's stunt took some creativity in engineering.
