Football Season Picks up With Princeton Game

When the final whistle blew on Saturday afternoon, the Harvard football team officially extended its unbeaten streak to nine with a 24-14 victory over visiting Lafayette.

The shrill sound meant that “Ten Thousand Men of Harvard” would soon fill the air, that postgame handshakes would commence, and that the Crimson could enjoy victory in a game that it led wire-to-wire.

Football Owns Yale For Seventh Straight Year

They may call it The Game, but it didn’t seem like much of one on Saturday.

Harvard held a 28-0 lead at halftime. Moving the ball at will for the majority of the contest, the Crimson ended with 425 total yards of offense. And when the scoreboard read Harvard 34, Yale 7 as the clock ticked down to zero, the Crimson faithful officially made the Yale Bowl its own by storming the field.

Baseball's Tumultuous Season Will Pay Dividends

The Harvard baseball team had a number of strikes against it before the season even started.

The team was coming off a 12-30 record in a 2012 campaign in which it won only one of its first 17 games. In late July, beloved head coach Joe Walsh passed away and the squad was leaderless for the first time since 1996.
