Elena Kagan: Her Time at Harvard

Former Law School Dean and Solicitor General Elena Kagan has been nominated by President Barack Obama to replace Justice John Paul Stevens on the Supreme Court. Once a student at Harvard Law School, Kagan became the first woman to lead the Law School and will become the youngest Justice on the Supreme Court, if confirmed.


Elena Kagan, pictured here in a 1985-1986 Harvard Law Review Board of Editors portrait in front of Austin Hall, graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1986. She attended Princeton as an undergraduate and also holds a Master of Philosophy degree from Oxford University.
