The famed Adams gong, missing since before Housing Day, resurfaced early Wednesday afternoon—in Eliot House dining hall for all to see, no less. This happened the day before the gong's absence was about to be reported to the Cambridge police.

A two-day summer orientation, at least one meeting of all current and incoming House Masters, and casual dinner conversations will prepare the three pairs of newly-appointed Masters before they are suddenly thrust into the many responsibilities of overseeing an entire House.

Harvard Business School Professor Rakesh Khurana, Natural Sciences Professor Douglas A. Melton, and French and Comparative Literature Professor Christie McDonald and their spouses will lead Cabot, Eliot, and Mather Houses as House Masters next year, Hammonds announced Friday in an e-mail to the College community.
