Despite an unexpected October snowstorm blanketing Cambridge in a wet layer of snow, Harvard students sloshed through soggy streets to celebrate Halloween—if in somewhat dampened tones—in a variety of ways, from Fright Fest in Annenberg Hall to the annual Heaven and Hell party in Currier House.

Displaced studiers rejoice! After closing for repairs early in the semester due to frozen drains and a leaking ceiling, the Quincy House Qube is now back in business, according to an e-mail sent over the Quincy House list. A security guard confirmed today that, barring any more heavy snowfall, the beloved Qube will be operating at normal hours for the rest of the semester.

Rather than taking the time to mourn the University’s reluctance to declare a snow day, James E. Hawrot '12 decided to take advantage of last week's massive snowfall and construct an igloo in front of Cabot House on the Quad lawn.

Over the weekend Cabot students worked together to design and build an igloo in the Quad Yard. Inspired by the relentless snowfall and informed by an instructional video he found online, James E. Hawrot '11 rounded up a group of Cabotians to help create this new temporary installation in the yard. The igloo was completed in twelve hours over the course of two days.
